About the event
Val’s Ton in a Tundra is an annual food drive that takes place outside participating grocery stores in Timmins and South Porcupine. All the food and funds raised go towards the community Christmas Food Box project that provides seniors, families and singles in Timmins in need with a box of fresh and non-perishable food items for the holiday season. IT will take place at various locations throughour the community from 11AM to 7PM.
Volunteer Schedules and Roles
We’re scheduling volunteers in 2-hour shifts from 11AM to 7PM with two people per shift, per grocery store (a great opportunity to volunteer with a family member or friend!)
Volunteers are responsible for collecting non-perishable food items as customers leave the store, as well as cash donations.
We will schedule two people per shift so that there is always one person outdoors should you need to use the washroom or warm up inside.
