Weather Monitoring & Decision-Making Monitoring: The event team will track the weather forecast starting 5 days before the event and monitor conditions hourly on event day using Environment Canada and local weather apps. The final call on modifications, delays, or cancellations will be made by 7:00 AM on event day by the UWCNEO event organizers, in consultation with the City of Timmins, fire departments, and EMS. Decision Triggers for Plan Activation: Mild rain/light wind: Event proceeds as scheduled. Heavy rain/lightning/high winds: Delays or modifications. Extreme weather (thunderstorms, high winds, hail, unsafe conditions): Postponement or cancellation. 2. Adjusted Event Plans Based on Weather Conditions ☔ Light to Moderate Rain & Wind (Event Proceeds with Modifications) Provide ponchos for volunteers and key event staff. Encourage teams to dress accordingly (water-resistant clothing, no slippery footwear). Tents for registration, spectators, and food vendors to provide coverage.
