Wintergreen Fund for Conservation

The Wintergreen Fund for Conservation is a local non-profit foundation, guided by a Board of Directors, and made up of local citizens. We are a registered charity with a keen interest in conservation and the protection of the environment. We work closely with the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority to achieve our goals. Like you, we appreciate the importance of having a clean and healthy environment within which to work and play.

Our mission is to protect, conserve and restore our community’s unique natural heritage and environment. Our vision is to be the lead community organization in ensuring a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.

The Wintergreen Fund for Conservation hosts several outdoor hiking activities throughout the year including ecological information and birdwatching walks. We are also actively involved in community clean-up, local gardens, pollinator education. We are also a fundraising organization who raises money to assist with the maintenance of our local recreation trail network, conservation activities and the promotion of environmental education.
