Who We Are

ACT's vision is to work together for a food secure community where all residents have the resources to access and prepare healthy food. Incorporated in 2007, ACT became a registered charity in 2009 with the goal of developing creative coordinated responses to barriers such as low income, inaccessibility to land, transportation, and gaps in knowledge or experience that make it difficult for people to meet their basic need for healthy food.

What We Do

Our programs include: Collective Cooking which brings community members together to cook, learn new kitchen skills, and prepare take-home meals; Community Gardens where we provide land for community members to grow fresh produce for themselves and for emergency food services; and the Good Food Program (Good Food Box and Good Food Market) that breaks down the economic, transportation, and knowledge barriers to eating well.

You can easily order a Good Food Box with our online order form: https://hipaa.jotform.com/AntiHungerCoalition/orderGFB

As a 100% local grassroots charity, donations and fundraising are key to ensuring we can continue our critical community food security work. Our fundraisers include the Harvest Moon Potluck and Coldest Night of the Year.
Partner initiatives include Farm to Fork Market Dollars, the Christmas Food Box project, and the Empty Bowls fundraiser.

Volunteers help our programs and events thrive! We offer a wide variety of volunteer roles/positions — there's something for everyone!
