Volunteers help finish quilts by preparing and attaching the binding. Tasks may include cutting and pressing binding strips, sewing binding onto quilts, and attaching labels. Guidance is provided, and all skill levels are welcome.

Volunteers help iron and prep fabric for the projects we’re working on—this can include quilt blocks or tops we’ve received, and preparing fabric for our AccuQuilter cutting machine. Tasks may include cutting fabric into different-sized squares and strips, measuring blocks to ensure they’re the correct size, and trimming them to match. Training is available, including the option to be trained on the AccuQuilter.

Volunteers help sew quilt blocks and quilt tops (piecing). This can include following simple patterns, sewing with a seam allowance, pressing seams, and preparing tops to be quilted and finished. Patterns and guidance are provided, and all skill levels are welcome.
